STATS EXTRA CREDIT

READ THIS IN ITS ENTIRETY.  ANY DEVIATION FROM INSTRUCTIONS WILL RESULT IN NO CREDIT.



STATISTICS EXTRA CREDIT
Due 7:25 am January 2, 2013

 

1.     Choose data that has 30 different points of interest (like temperatures of 30 states or batting averages for 30 different players)

2.     Make/copy a TABLE displaying the information in Excel

3.     Create a GRAPH in Excel displaying your 30  data points

a.     Choose a graph that BEST displays your information

b.     Title and label all the parts of the graph

4.     Find the measures of Central Tendency

a.     mean

b.     median

c.     mode

                                                             i.      you may use your calculator

                                                          ii.      type/label your results in your Excel worksheet

5.     Find the measures of variation (must make a table in Excel)

a.     Variance

b.     Standard deviation

c.     Average deviation

d.     Range

6.     95% CI for the mean and variance clearly displayed

 

TO BE SUBMITTED

·       MUST BE TYPED and ORGANIZED

·       TWO TABLES (one of just the data and one of the variation)

·       ONE GRAPH

·       9 ANSWERS (central tendency, CI’s and variation)
